Jake Gyllenhaal is confirmed as the protagonist of the remake of the film The tough of Road House
The star of Nocturnal Animals, Donnie Darko, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Jake Gyllenhaal, will be the protagonist of the remake of the cult film The Tough of the Road House. Upon its release, back in 1989, it featured the iconic Patrick Swayze, the face behind some of the most popular films of the 80s and 90s, such as Ghost and Dirty Dancing. The film will be produced and distributed by the Amazon Prime Video channel and platform: the production team working on the project will also involve Joel Silver, the producer behind the original work.
Directing Road House will be famed filmmaker Doug Liman, mastermind and camera behind The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith
The screenplay, on the other hand, was written by Anthony Bagarozzi. But what role will actor Jake Gyllenhaal go to? He will play the part of a former boxer who takes a job as a security guard at a club in the Florida Keys. In the process, man will discover that what looks like a tropical paradise is actually a potential hell. The cast will also include Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage and Travis Van Winkle.
Jennifer Salke said: “Not only will it be a tribute to fans of the original film, but it will also be a big, fun, big-scale movie. We are thrilled to partner with Joel, Doug, and this great cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal to envision a new version of the classic MGM as an action-packed adventure for a global audience. " Silver reiterated instead: “The original film has a special place in my heart and I am thrilled to bring this new version to audiences around the world. Doug and I have made some impressive and action-packed films and we are ready to give our best with this. "
