The American filmmaker has a fundamental part in the development of the series.

The Batman, a feature film directed and written by Matt Reeves (Apes Revolution - Planet of the Apes, Blood Story), has reinvented the figure of the Dark Knight on the big screen, bringing a new canon to the DCEU. The superhero, in a young version, was played this time by Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse, Twilight) who gave the public a totally new version of Bruce Wayne, never so tormented and angry, at least in the cinema.

]Considering the enormous success in theaters, it is not surprising that it was deliberately chosen to expand the film with other collateral projects, in particular, for now, two serial spin-offs, one dedicated to Arkham Asylum and the other focused on The Penguin, one of Batman's antagonists who appears in the film with the face of Colin Farrell.

The Batman was released in Italian cinemas in March 2022

Speaking of this latest work that will somehow expand The Batman, we discovered some interesting information about the show. Well, in a recent interview with Colin Farrell that he gave for Entertainment Tonight, the actor said that, although Matt Reeves is not directly involved in directing the television series, he is taking care of the writing and is also coordinating who will actually be behind the movie camera. In other words, he is in effect the showrunner. Below you will find the words of the star.

Matt lives up to his nonsense, you know, he hovers over the keyboard and plans the story just because he's so meticulous. He's so obsessive about what he does, but he's also all over the place in The Penguin series. I mean, he's not going to direct it but he's all over the structure of the scripts and who's going to direct them. And so, he is exciting.

The Batman is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment and 6th & Idaho Productions with executive production by Simon Emanuel, Michael E. Uslan, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo. The film, co-written by Peter Craig and Mattson Tomlin, arrived in Italian cinemas on March 3, 2022 with the distribution of Warner Bros.
